From May 20 to 24, 2024, the 24th International Metalworking Exhibition (Metalloobrabotka 2024) was held at Expocentre in Moscow. Taizhou Terui CNC Machine Co., Ltd. participated in the event, presenting its middle speed wire EDM series to the Eastern European and CIS markets.
Metalloobrabotka is the largest and most influential metalworking trade show in Eastern Europe and the CIS region. Held annually since 1984, it now ranks among the world's top ten machine tool trade fairs. The 2024 edition brought together more than 1,000 exhibitors from 13 countries across over 40,000 square meters of exhibition space, attracting more than 44,000 professional visitors. According to the organizer's survey, about 30% of attendees were purchasing decision-makers, and 65% planned to make purchases based on the show's results.
At the show, Terui CNC highlighted its middle speed wire EDM, represented by the TRS32 model. This machine occupies a practical position between high speed reciprocating wire EDM and low speed unidirectional wire EDM, offering a strong balance of precision and cost efficiency. The TRS32 features a worktable travel of 320×400mm, a maximum cutting thickness of 300mm, machining accuracy of ≤0.01mm, surface roughness of ≤Ra1.2μm, and a maximum cutting speed of ≥160mm²/min.
The core design concept of this series is the use of reusable molybdenum wire instead of disposable brass wire, which significantly reduces consumable costs for customers while maintaining machining accuracy. Key components include HIWIN linear guides, Japanese NSK bearings, P3-grade double-nut ball screws, and Panasonic servo systems, ensuring stable long-term operation. The machine body adopts a "C"-type cast structure with a bidirectional constant-tension wire system, balancing machining accuracy with ease of operation.
Demand for metalworking equipment in Russia and the CIS region has remained strong in recent years, with market consumption exceeding 25,500 units in 2022 and imported equipment accounting for approximately 35%. For Terui CNC, participating in Metalloobrabotka is not only a product showcase but also a strategic entry point into the Eastern European market. The competitiveness of middle speed wire EDM in this region lies in its ability to meet local manufacturers' basic requirements for machining accuracy while offering a clear advantage in both equipment purchase and operating costs.
Terui CNC currently offers a relatively complete EDM product line, covering high speed wire EDM, middle speed wire EDM, EDM drilling machines, die-sinking EDM, and CNC engraving and milling machines. The Moscow exhibition has laid a solid foundation for the company's further expansion into Russia and neighboring markets.
